Bowen landed her first film role in the indie flick Five Spot Jewel (1992) while she was still in college; that same year, she appeared briefly on the soap opera "Loving." She later co-starred as Adam Sandler's all-business girlfriend in Happy Gilmore (1996), playing pretty publicist Virginia Venit.
Although Bowen enjoyed prominent runs on "Ed" (2000-04), "Lost" (2005-07), "Boston Legal" (2005-08) and "Weeds" (2008), she found real staying power as harried wife and mother Claire Dunphy on "Modern Family" (2009-). The role also brought Bowen her first Emmy nod.
When Tommy gets out of the big house, he discovers life on the outside is even crazier than it was behind bars. His sister won't get off his back, his ex-girlfriend won't leave him alone, and his former partner in crime won't take no for an answer.
