Asia/Haaheim: Sacred & Profane

2002 NR

Composer Daniel Asia and performer Kip Haaheim present the composer's electro-acoustic music cycle of five works, each inspired by the natural division of the universe that separates the sacred day of rest from the profane days of toil. Using the words of Poland's 18th-century Rabbi Nachman of Bratislay, "An Awesome Silent Fire," "Like Smoke Towards Heaven" and "Cry" offer the sacred aspect, while "Mercury" and "Chromium" represent the profane.
