Born July 12, 1980, in Montclair, N.J., Kristen Connolly studied acting at Vermont's Middlebury College and the Yale School of Drama. In 2008, she began landing guest spots on prime-time TV shows such as "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," "Life on Mars" and "Nurse Jackie," filling the interval with stints on the soap operas "Guiding Light" and "As the World Turns."

Although Connolly's first film appearance was a bit part in Mona Lisa Smile (2003), she eventually moved into substantive supporting roles with Revolutionary Road (2008) and Certainty (2011). But it was her turn as a virginal scream queen in the blood-spattered genre-bender The Cabin in the Woods (2011) that put her on the Hollywood map.

Connolly's later work includes The Bay (2012) and the Netflix original series "House of Cards."
