Prolific television actor Peter Haskell was born in Boston on Oct. 15, 1934, and studied theater while pursuing a literature degree at Harvard University. An appearance in the short-lived off-Broadway play "The Love Nest" cast him alongside James Earl Jones and Sally Kirkland, and eventually led to his first small-screen part on the Western anthology "Death Valley Days" in 1964.

Haskell is best known for his portrayal of writer-producer Kevin Grant on the prime-time drama "Bracken's World" (1969-70), which offered a glimpse into the glamorous world of moviemaking. In the 1980s, he landed a recurring role on "Ryan's Hope" as wealthy patriarch Hollis Kirkland III. He later appeared in Child's Play 2 (1990) and Child's Play 3 (1991) as the head of the Good Guys toy company.

The series finale of "ER" (2009) marked Haskell's final TV appearance. He died April 12, 2010, at the age of 75.
