A Western and mystery doubleheader pays tribute to the early days of African-American cinema. In Harlem Rides the Range, a 1939 all-black Western, singing cowboy Bob Blake (Herb Jeffries) is framed for murder by land poachers intent on seizing a homesteader's mine. Blake must work fast to break out of jail and thwart the evil plot. In Murder in Harlem, a black night watchman is accused of murder when he finds the body of a dead white woman.
