In 1962, Moore became a superstar when he landed the leading role in the TV series "The Saint," an international smash hit. He took over the role of James Bond in 1973's Live and Let Die, and starred in another six Bond films before hanging up his martini glass after A View to a Kill in 1985.
Other notable films include The Sins of Rachel Cade, Shout at the Devil, The Wild Geese and The Cannonball Run. Moore continues to act in films and television series.
Roger Moore debuts as suave secret agent James Bond, who's sent to the United States to go after a master criminal scheming to take over the country by turning the populace into heroin junkies. Paul McCartney provides the Oscar-nominated title tune.
